 Pocket
Guide to the Identification of First Editions
by Bill McBride

|
McBrides
popular guide for identifying first editions. Includes designations of approximately 3600
different publishers. (Note that this guide does not differentiate between points of issue
among various states of a first edition. See McBrides companion volume, "Points
of Issue," for this information.) Immensely useful, pocket-sized volume. Ideal for
taking to sales. |
Points of Issue: A Compendium of Points of Issue of Books by
19th-20th Century Authors
by Bill McBride

|
Companion
guide to McBrides "Pocket Guide to the Identification of First Editions,"
this book provides information on points of issue of collectible authors. From
McBrides introduction: "A point of issue occurs when a change is made in a book
during the production of the first printing of the first edition without that change being
noted as a change elsewhere in the book. Thus, some copies of the first printing exist
without the change and some with it. Since most collectors prefer the earliest possible
state of the book, the book must be checked to see if a point of issue exists."
Immensely useful, pocket-sized volume. Ideal for taking to sales. |
